Welcome

As Head of School, I am inspired by the opportunity to fulfill the unique mission of Butler Montessori, which is guided by the work and writings of Dr. Maria Montessori (1870–1952).

At its core, our philosophy is simple: Follow the child.

Natasha Soderberg, Head of School

Our mission is to guide children to be independent, resilient, compassionate, socially aware, global thinkers ready to navigate this changing world.

Diversity

Butler Montessori's story began in 1969 with a spark of inspiration — Dr. Maria Montessori's revolutionary approach to education. Founded by Rilla Spellman, a passionate pioneer, our school blossomed from a single classroom to a thriving community serving infants all the way through high school. Over the years, we've embraced growth, even changing our name (twice!), but our core mission remains constant: nurturing a lifelong love of learning through the timeless wisdom of Montessori.
